I found this driver by typing the model number in my browser and trying the links. this works for Bios versions older than 1/6/1999 as suggested by Maxtor that would not support HDDs larger than 32 GByte. After down loading and running the program as described on their website (www.giga-byte.com/gigabyte-web/procedure1.htm) (thanks gigabyte whoever you are) everthing is working fine and i can now use my 40 GByte Maxtor HDD. if any one needs info on my system to help confirm, email graham@burgess90.freeserve.co.uk.
note the patch ID 0014 original, ID 00A0 after loading.
