[FCCID=None] Here is the post the helped me reset the BIOS Password on my HP Pavilion n3250 Notebook. HP won't help you due to security reasons, so here you go. This also works for Omnibook notebooks as well.

The above statement as follows here is correct

"I had a customer bring in an Omnibook XE2 with a lost BIOS password. As he no longer had his product number, HP Phone support did no good. So, I had to find a way to clear the CMOS on my own.

(1) Remove the memory access panel.

(2) Remove the sticks of memory.

(3) I believe it is the top stick, but it may be the bottom. There are two solder points that stand out.

(4) With a small screwdriver or other tool, short these two contacts.

(5) Replace the memory and put the access panel back on.

Your CMOS should now be cleared. I have only done this on an XE2, but chances are there are similar ways on other HP laptops.

I tried this on a HP Pavilion N3000 Series and the solder points are right where they are supposed to be, under the RAM. I also had to remove a factory sticker to access these solder points. In case you are still wondering what they look like, they are two small silver blips on the board, they look like they have melted a little and are smooth. In addition to the above quote, you have to short these points while the machine is plugged in and then you press the power button while the contacts are shorted, when you do this NOTHING SHOULD HAPPEN WHILE THE POINTS ARE SHORTED. after you do this, put the RAM back in, cover the slot, and turn on the power. You will get a CMOS settings error, just go into setup
