Upgrading to the incorrect BIOS image, or not following proper upgrade procedures, could result in a completely unresponsive system. Whenever upgrading to a new BIOS image, make sure to boot your system completely clean. TSR's can interfere with the upgrade process, causing it to fail. Therefore, only upgrade the BIOS using the boot disk that the below executable files create. Do not load the files created by the below executable files onto your hard drive and attempt to flash your BIOS from your hard drive. Version 05-21 BIOS upgrade for the TransPort Trek. This is a self extracting bootable disk image. Insert a formatted floppy diskette and type: TREK0521.EXE A: to extract the files to the diskette. The upgrade changes the IRQ mapping to resolve issues with using a 16-bit PCMCIA ethernet card with a PCMCIA modem. WARNING: Do not use this Transport Trek (MMX) flash on your Transport TrekČ or Transport TrekČ AGP notebook. Doing so will damage your computer, and that damage is not covered under the warranty. Read the file README.TXT on the diskette for further installation instructions.
